Material Mixologist

For this project, I have tried to find resources in my own home to create new materials. I have focused on utilising my household food waste in different ways and testing what I could possibly create, with the intention that my findings could be applied to the food waste from the WTLGI kitchen.

Using waste materials I have focused on creating a colour palette from the natural environment which complements both the closed-loop mentality of the restaurant as well as the paired-back tonal quality of its interiors.

I have explored the potential application of my materials through weaving, taking influence from the work of my fellow group members. I focused on paper and fabric weaving to create patterns. They were influenced by the shadows and lines I observed as the light filtered into the restaurant during my visit.
